Non-Monogamy & Polyamory Counselling

Throwing away the normative script of monogamy can be both liberating and overwhelming. We no longer have to follow the pre-existing path, but we also have to find our own and continue to carve it. However, even after choosing one’s own adventure, societal norms can insidiously creep in. Counselling helps alleviate feelings of guilt, shame, or fear resulting from normative expectations, and helps you clarify what you want out of your relationships—be it an open relationship, ENM (ethical non-monogamy), or polyamory. Through a non-judgmental and trauma-informed lens, it elucidates historical sources of insecurity to help overcome them and feel more secure. It can also provide structure and tools for more open and constructive communication.

Non-Monogamy Counselling can help with concerns such as:

  • I am interested in polyamory, but I don’t know how to navigate my family’s judgement.

  • My partner and I want different forms of ethical nonmonogamy (ENM). We don’t know how to navigate these differences.

  • My husband shared that he wants to start swinging. I am interested, but nervous.

  • Whenever my partner sees her girlfriend, I feel overwhelmed with jealousy and fear that she’ll leave me. Is our relationship sustainable?

  • I don’t like my metamour. How do I deal with these feelings?
